Da Bears

Note from one of the band members:

Its recently come to my realization that we're a weird fucking band. For our almost five year existence, I've hesitated to even use the word "band" to describe "Da Bears". We've had a history full of revolving door lineups plagued by distance and time, with plenty of hiatuses and asterisked shows in between. The odd way in which we go about typical band buisiness can be confusing, so I wanted to clear up the most common questions and queries I get in regards to the band. In short I wanna give a little insight into what we've been up to recently, and what you can expect from us in the future. The only way to fully understand the band's history is to have been inside it, so instead of harping on the past I just want to explain the current state of the band and avoid any present confusion!

Since the end of our 2008 summer tour, we were able to lock down a solid San Diego based lineup, complete with a drummer (the magnificent Conner Martin), and piano (long time on and off collaborator Garrett Ervin). Any show we play now should be assumed to be full rock band, unless extraordinary circumstances prevent it from happening.

In October of 2008 we released a full length album "Classics Never Die / Cowardly Cobra". In my opinion, this release sums up the band's existence from mid 2006 to present. It took a lot of time and energy to pull together all the tentacles of the band to record it, but were very proud of the final product! If you're at all interested in checking it out, please support us and cop it off our own Grizzly Records label!

As for the future, we hope to continue playing live with our current lineup and honing the recently released material, along with favorites from our (deep) back catalog. New stuff has been worked on a tiny bit, but we don't have any current plans to release anything new. Hopefully this has cleared up any questions or confusion about the band, and don't forget to come say hi at a show!
